T.J. O’Hara’s BOOKS

T.J. O’Hara began writing political satire in 2008 to stimulate awareness and interest among individuals who might otherwise not be predisposed to follow United States politics.  He was then approached by several publishers who encouraged him to create an anthology of his work.  Instead, he conducted a research project among over 100 associates whom he describes as “far left, far right, and everything in between.”

T.J. found only two similarities among this vast array of people:  (1) they believed that their political opinions were right and those with opposing views were wrong; and when he asked if they had ever read the National Platform of either of the two major Parties, 100 percent said, “No.”  This paradox (an emotional belief on the one hand and no rational basis for it on the other) led to the writing of the first two books:  The Left isn’t Right and The Right is Wrong.  These books explore the exact text of the Democratic National Platform and the Republican Nation Platform, respectively in a satirical way (the Parties’ misspellings, grammatical errors, etc. included).

When T.J. recognized that neither National Platform seemed to be particularly in alignment with the Constitution of the United States, he wrote the third book of the trilogy: The National Platform of Common Sense.  This book blends history and humor to provide a satirical, alternative platform to those offered by the Parties.  Each book is offered to entertain as well as inform an unsuspecting electorate.

Offered separately as an e-book, The Left isn’t Right explores the Democratic National Platform with tongue-firmly-implanted-in-cheek. Conservatives will enjoy it, while Liberals need to read it.

Offered together in a unique paperback “flip” book, The Left isn’t Right / The Right is Wrong provides you with the freedom to read whichever one you choose first. Do it now, before some overzealous politician tries to take that right away. When you reach the middle of the book, just flip it over. The texts are printed in opposite directions… much like the positions the Parties hold.

Offered as both a paperback and an e-book, The National Platform of Common Sense is written within the constraint of delivering a political platform that actually complies with the Constitution of the United States, its Bill of Rights (and additional Amendments), and the Declaration of Independence. It provides a historical overview of our founding documents tempered with a satirical contrast to the National Platforms that the Democrat and Republican Parties traditionally publish with much fanfare and very little readership.mazon (paperback and Kindle)
